Obituary for Caylee Ann Smith
Caylee Ann Smith, born on February 17th, 2009, in Browning, MT, passed away on September 14th, 2024, in Cut Bank, MT, at the age of 15. Raised in Cut Bank for the majority of her life, Caylee's vibrant and loving spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
Caylee had a passion for life that was evident in everything she did. She loved helping her mother, Grace, at their family dog boarding business, Faithful Paws. Her love for animals, especially dogs, was just one of the ways her caring heart shone through. Beyond her work, Caylee was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, as well as a dedicated runner. She also found joy in music, playing both the piano and guitar.
Caylee was deeply involved in her church and found strength in her faith, which was a central part of her life. She was known for her sass and stubbornness but equally for her kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile with those around her.
She is survived by her loving parents, Les and Grace Smith of Cut Bank, MT, and her siblings: Jaylee Smith, Janessa Smith, and Hope Mattson, as well as her brothers Avery and Isaac Mattson. She also leaves behind her aunts and uncles: Rick Winkowitsch, Kim Beebe, Robert and Sahm Winkowitsch, and Ryan and LeAnne Winkowitsch, along with many cousins: Katie and Glorie Ndongala, Daniel and Valerie Winkowitsch, Josh Winkowitsch, Kassidey and Rashard Byrd, and Kenny, Jed, Remmington, Ruger, and Beretta Winkowitsch.
Caylee is preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Judy Winkowitsch, whose memories she carried close to her heart.
A vibrant personality, Caylee was known to say, "Some people know me, but they don't know me well." This quote encapsulated her unique spirit-one that was full of depth, warmth, and care for others. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community, but her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Services will be held at Canvas Church in Cut Bank, MT, on Monday September 30th, 2024 open casket will be from 10am - 10:45am prior to the service, with internment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery also in Cut Bank, MT.
