Mona passed away in Great Falls on February 22, 2025, at Benefis Hospital. She is survived by her 3 daughters and 2 sons, Karleen WhiteGrass, Rae Tall Whiteman-Armstrong (Everett), Randi Tall Whiteman-WhiteGrass, Ryan Jay Tall Whiteman, and Benjamin Tall Whiteman-RunningWolf. Her grandkids are Shalbilyn Tall Whiteman, Jaysen Tall Whiteman-Armstrong, Everleigh Armstrong, Holden BearMedicine, Raedyn Edwards, Caroline WhiteGrass, Anna WhiteGrass, Jerel WhiteGrass, and Jasper WhiteGrass. Her siblings are Carla WhiteGrass (William), Robert MadPlume (Wilma), Vernie MadPlume, Harold MadPlume (Elaine), Kenny MadPlume, Donna MadPlume, and Berva MadPlume (David). Aunt Suzie Weazley, Aunt Cleo "Diddo" Mountain Chief, and Uncle Vincent Michael (Rhonda).

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Melvin Tucker Running Wolf, her mother Carol Ann Mountain Chief, and Father Joseph Joe Tall Whiteman Sr. Her siblings Darrell MadPlume, Wilbur MountainChief, Harland MadPlume, Joseph BigBoy Tall Whiteman Jr, Kevin Tall Whiteman Sr, Karl Bimbo MadPlume Sr, and her beloved daughter/niece RaeDawn WhiteGrass. Her Uncles Richard Dickie MountainChief, Joyce NoRunner, and Jesse Jazzbo CutFinger, and Cousin Barbara B.J. CutFinger-Walker. Many numerous nieces and nephews.

She descended from an extensive line of Chewing BlackBones, Agnes Chewing BlackBones, Florence MadPlume, Mountain Chief, Gharrett Mountain Chief, and Tall Whiteman.
